Hi, I'm Bria. I draw beautiful little oddities for a living.
I'm an illustrator in Atlanta, running a small studio called The October Creative.
I come from a long line of artists. Illustrators on my father's side, painters and designers on my mother's. Basically, I grew up around people who were always making something, and no one acted like that was unusual.
The October Creative started the same way most of my favorite things start: as a tiny idea I kept making more complicated. At first it was stationery and logos and little pieces I made after work. Then it turned into a shop. Then it turned into a studio. Eventually I had to admit it was the thing I wanted to do for real.
Now I make doodles, clipart, fonts, and design assets for other creatives to use in their own work. Invitations, menus, packaging, journals, and signage. Sometimes it's a dog in a martini glass, which honestly tells you most of what you need to know.
I like my work charming and a little odd. If that sounds like your kind of thing, you're probably in the right place.

What exactly is an October Creative?
Someone who likes things best when they're a little beautiful and a little strange.
The name comes from October, obviously. It has always been my favorite month. Not because it's spooky in the obvious way, but because everything feels a little more interesting then. The light changes. The colors get moodier. Normal things get a little strange.
That is the feeling I'm usually chasing when I draw. I like work that feels romantic, a little imperfect, and specific enough that it could not belong to just anyone.
So an October Creative, at least in my mind, is someone who wants the pretty thing, as long as it's a little funny and has a story behind it. I'm one. So is everyone who shops here.
